Death Wish

I just got the finger.

A bicyclist, riding against traffic, crossed the intersection against the light. Right in front of me. He popped out from behind a building, didn't even look at me, and made it across my line of travel before I intersected him.

No helmet.

Out my window, I scolded: "Dangerous!"

He flipped me off.

"You should ride with the flow of traffic!"

He flipped me off again.

"Hey," I said, "you're right. It's your life. I hope it's a long one!"

He smiled a feral smile and gave me the bird one last time as our paths diverged for good.
