I can testify that yes, once you start demolition it's very, very hard to stop.

The downstairs space has an odd arrangement of rooms that I hope to make sensible by moving a door and adding a door. Then I'll have a pair of usable rooms instead of a room and a giant hallway. I started with the idea that I'd make a hole for the new door, but then the plaster started to fall away from the lathe, and now I've realized I can run another grounded outlet into this room...
