Lawrence Livermore Lab has an answer to that. In short, releasing all those eons of sequestered carbon transforms the earth. Global temerature goes up 8° C. Sea levels rise 7m (that's 2 storeys, or permanent flooding of New Orleans and the Sacramento Delta). No more polar ice caps, either.
