Attention Alamedans:
Discard your unusable electronics on November 12th, from 10 to 2, at the Main Entrance to the Alameda Naval Station. Contact ACI at (510) 483-1400 if you need to, but here's the scoop:
Bring ANY QUANTITY of your electronic scrap that you've been hoarding, wishing you could toss it into the weekly pick-up but reluctant to burden our landfill with the 5 pounds of lead in your old CRT, or the toxic metals in that old cell phone battery, or the trace of recoverable elements from that ancient circuit board, out to the point and hand it over to ACI.
Bring proof of residency, or you won't get to leave your stuff. If you don't have a car, call me up and I'll swing by on my way to hand over my pile of crapped-out computers and dead cell phones, hardrives and cables, handhelds, a printer, scanners, a fax, and a VCR.
I might even finally talk Xena into letting go of her BetaMax. The darn thing still works. But it really doesn't have a function.
